Happy Valentine’s Day lovers!
I hope you get to spend your day making each other feel special. I am not a huge fan of Valentines Day because of the pressure of having to do something special and the expectations that are put in, generally, expectations in a relationship are not a good thing. But on the other hand, there is nothing wrong with having an extra motivation to make your love feel special and showing them how much they mean to you. So whatever way you decide to spend the day, remember it’s just a day and does not define your relationship or your worth if you are not in a relationship while all your friends are. I’ve been there, trust me! Do something special for yourself: go to a movie, do a spa day, go out with your girlfriends, go on a day trip, or do a lazy-candles-lit-snack-candy-and-Netflix-filled day, maybe in the bath(add a Lush bath bomb!). No pity parties allowed! You are a beautiful and strong woman and right now you should embrace that; when the time is right you will have the best partner and you will appreciate them that much more!
Anyways, for those who have gotten engaged, I thought I’d give you some inspiration for engagement photos. Here is one of my sessions from August. It took place along the Fraser River on the dock in Burnaby, BC. It was a grey Sunday, full of love and appreciation of each other. I love hearing my couples stories, how they met and how their relationships develop. Having heard so many now, over and over again I can’t help but think that each of them met at just the right time, had it been earlier it wouldn’t have worked, had they not done something else they wouldn’t have met. So the point is after every story is that things happen when they are supposed to. Once you trust that, all of a sudden you aren’t worried about it, when or how you will meet your future lover. Live your life to the fullest and be your best person, aim to be completely content and happy on your own; that way when you meet that person you will be bringing great value into the relationship without the expectation that they will make your life better. They will be the cherry on top of the whipped cream. The added joy of your life, not the only happiness.
This particular couple met later in their lives, at work. They weren’t allowed to date because of company policies, but luckily Lorena was looking for something different at that time. So after she got herself a better job somewhere else they could be together. And the rest as they say “Is history!”
I’ll let the photos speak for them now.
Look at her amazing nails! They make me want to do my nails, too bad it ruins my nails!
