Fine Art Family and wedding portraiture

based in Vancouver, Canada

As a child I remember going to my grandparents house and flipping though photo albums and boxes of printed memories of their childhood, their wedding and as my parents grew up. I loved feeling the texture of the paper as I admired their life and listened to their stories attentively.

As an adult memories have become my most cherished possessions. Whether it be my journals under my bed, the last photo of me and my grandmother framed on my shelf or the family photos hanging on my wall; they are all priceless. I have learned how time can fade memories and how photos have the power to refresh or bring back a buried moment.

Now I pride myself in capturing once-in-a-life-time moments of a couple saying "I do" on a windblown mountain top, of a father holding his newborn child with tear stains on his cheeks, of a child looking up at her mom while balancing on her tippy toes or a mother hugging her daughter with one tear rolling down her cheek before she walks down the aisle. I take great care to help families pick their favourite photos to put into an album or to hang on their walls. I smile at hearing stories of how my art becomes a valued part of a families everyday life.

I create more than pretty pictures but an experience that is designed to bring closeness and connection between loved ones and images that become family heirlooms that will long outlive the people in them. My photos share stories and moments that have long passed and bond a relationship between a grandmother and her grand children as she shares her life with them through photographs that they flip through together.

I am 40% fluent in spanish and getting better. I plan to become fluent in French and Italian before I have children.

I figure skated for 6 years.
Then I took up many other sports like:mountain biking, soccer, snowboarding, football, surfing,Volleyball, Street hockey and Basketball.

I worked in the service industry for many years. As a server, hostess, Delivery Driver, Prep cook, dish washer, expodite and barista.

This allowed me to travel and get out of university debt free.

I choose to live by two quotes:

"Either live like nothing in a miracle or like everything is a miracle"(I choose the later)

My favourites things

1

Spontaneous Adventures and trying new things.

especially at dawn or golden hour.
Add a little fog and it's magic!

2

Being in the middle of nowhere.
Going on hikes or driving to places where I am the only other human(or me and my clients)

It's my happy place and where I am most creative.

3

Mountains, the ocean, deep forests; anything wild and raw.

Just before or just after a storm is prime time!

4

Toddlers and babies!

Their smell, their tiny little features and new beginnings.
Kids are so smart, resilient and real.

5

Music!

I love dancing and singing! I have no shame, I will sing in the car on the top of my lungs and dance at the grocery store.

I may do either in a session

6

Deep rich colours.

Reds, Oranges, Greens and Blues. In Nature, in flowers and in clothes.

Which makes fall my favourite season!

7

I love building confidence, in woman and in Children.

I love seeing a child smile from ear to ear, love seeing a woman realize that she is beautiful.

8

My family and my friends.

My parents are my rock, my brother is my best friend and my two best girlfriends are my sisters and my best friends son means the world to me.

He has his own name for me "NAna".

9

I love Driving.

Cars, trucks, tractors, motorcycles, quades, boats and more!

It gives me a sense of peace and its fun!

10

Learning new things and fun facts.

I am a bundle of random facts and knowledge. I love asking questions and learning how things work. That's what I loved about school, just not the tests!
