I’ve seen a photographer do this and I loved this idea so here’s my version. If you’ve been following me for a while you know I love looking back over the past and seeing what I’ve learned, what has happened, how I’ve changed, how thankful I am for the experiences I’ve had. So New Years, […]
How I decided on my Vanlife home: Phay. My idea of what I wanted as my home changed a lot over a period of 6 months while I was planning and looking at so many different options. When I decided that I wanted to go full Vanlife everything changed. Would I live in my Mazda […]
Little Mohr Photography > Destination Wedding Photographer
I have known these two for quite a while. Dexter and Steph moved to Powell River, BC from Ontario together. My parent sailed with them and my mom worked with Steph. About 2 years before their wedding they moved to Prince Rupert for a great job opportunity for Dex. Then not long after that, they were sending out invites to their wedding.
Lot twist: About a week after they sent off the invites to their wedding, they found out that they were pregnant! They called me to tell me the news and we joked about the crazy year they are about to have. They were about to hit two birds with one stone! Their due date was one month before their wedding. It was about to be a whirlwind!
At the beginning of July, I traveled, with my mom, from Vancouver to Prince Rupert. Wow, it was a beautiful trip and a wonderful bonding experience with my mama. We got to see so much of our beautiful British Columbia.
We arrived on Friday and met everyone in Prince Rupert on Cow Bay at the Wheelhouse Brewery. I finally met their beautiful baby girl and their family. Everyone had some snacks and enjoyed some good local beer.
Later that night, we headed out to the venue, the North Pacific Cannery, to location scout and get a feel for the location. Wow, it was beautiful! The cannery is such a cool location! With two huge buildings with lofts and old machinery all over the building, including nets and all sorts of interesting things. This was one of my favorite and best venues I’ve ever worked at.
Saturday morning I met up with the ladies at their air bnb which was a huge house where most of the family stayed. They had breakfast laid out and invited me to eat with them as everyone got ready. The ladies took turns getting their hair done by Susan a hairstylist in Prince Rupert. Makeup was done by Tiffany Prystay. Of course, everyone took turns cuddling baby Lucy. It was a fun morning.
I headed to the venue early to get venue details and get the guys photos. The cannery has the coolest cabins on the property and we wandered through them. They had some old rooms set up like what used to be offices and stores in the times when the cannery was still functional. The whole cannery is so interesting! They even did a tour for the guest explaining how it used to run and all the history.
We were planning to have the ceremony on the dock in the same place we did their first look but the sky was threatening rain so we decided to have in the loft of the main building. Steph and her mom walked in from the backdoor and passed the huge machines and the gorgeous windows of the loft.
After the ceremony and family portraits, we did Steph + Dex + Lucy in the loft. Then we headed down to the dock and met the rest of the wedding party and explore. The rain had just stopped and the air was fresh. And the view was spectacular.
They had so many special details that Steph and Dextors family did for them. From making canned fish with handmade labels, beautiful cashmere scarves on each chair, pictures of the two on each table and a so many other little details.
At dinner they played a game about facts of Steph and Dex’s relationship and their life and I learned a lot of new things. They met when they were at the same tree planting camp. They love doing all sort of activities together, hiking, canoeing, sailing, skiing, and many more fun adventures. What a fun life they have already lived together! Now they have another person to take along with them.
Dexter joined a bagpipe band and the marched in a few times throughout the evening. We finished the night with a beautiful performance on the dock while a couple of girls danced while the sun went down.(and the bugs were eating us alive!) Then we all rocked out on the dance floor. The perfect way to finish the best day!
The amazing dinner was prepared by Nadia Halward from Mucho Gusto Catering in Prince Rupert, they had someone grilling up fresh meat for us to eat and it smelled heavenly.
Steph’s gorgeous dress is from Pure Magnolia, a unique boutique in North Vancouver. She looks so incredible in it. You’d never know that she was 1 month post-partum, can we all hope we look this good?!
Alright, enjoy this incredible day. It’s one of my absolute favorites ❤️
The Venue: The North West Cannery and the second building loft.
The reception place, the ceremony and the wildflowers picked by Steph’s friend Karita.
The canned(jarred?) fish they gave out as wedding favors and the view out of the venue.
Steph and Dex’s first look.
Steph and her mama walking down the isle.
Thank you Steph and Dex for giving me the privilege of being a part of your day!

Rachel, Kenzie and I did our first session about 3 years ago when I was doing a model call for a cake smash. Kenz was so little then and she was so shy and had to use her toy pig to get anywhere near the cake. The session was supposed to be just her and the cake but turned into an unintentional Mommy and me. When I showed her the slideshow of her photos she was literally crying by the end. It was the first time that anyone has cried because of my photos. I was so touched. See her first session here.
3 years later and us keeping in contact she had saved up her pennies and hired me again during my favorite season on the year, fall!
I was so excited to do this Mommy and me session with these two cuties because they hold such a special place in my heart.
I picked them up from their house and we headed to Second Beach in Powell River where we met Meagan and her gorgeous mobile studio Beauty en Route. Meagan pampered Rachel while I played with McKenzie with her dolly and got her out of her shy shell. By the time it was time to start the session McKenzie and I had become good friends.
As fall calls for, we had to start by playing in the leave. We were all fans, that’s for sure! We made out way down to the ocean played in the salt water and the sand. Running around and playing games to get Mckenzie giggling and having a blast just like her beautiful mama.
We ended the session with a spectacular sunset over Vancouver Island.
Her response tells me that she was very happy with the photos:
“Oh my freaking god. I LOVE them. They are amazing!! THANK YOU ❤️❤️”
Sam actually works with my mom and found my work through her originally. From the first skype call I loved chatting with her, we got along so well and had a couples sessions together this year. These two are too cute and I really enjoyed getting to know them before, during and after their session. […]
Phay and I met in pretty serial and unfortunate circumstances: Just over a year ago I was in a car accident that totaled my car on the highway towards Maple Ridge. Phay stopped with her fiance on the side of the road and helped me collect my things and drove me home, bless her. About […]
This is a fun story and a long one.
Pascal’s family and my family have been close friends since we moved to Canada, his parents, Jutta and Bernd, are my Godparents actually, and they all mean the world for me.
A few years ago I photographed Pascal and Alison’s wedding at this stunning mansion, in Madeira Park on the Sunshine Coast, that they rented for the weekend where all their closest friends and family stayed together. It was a weekend to remember.
Rewind a little… about 10 years before that Alison and Pascal met on their first day on campus, at The University of Victoria. Pascal’s parent’s, barely made it back home to Vanderhoof BC about 11 hours away, received a phone call from their son saying that he met a girl. Who knew that she would be the girl. She is from Scottland, and they spend every moment together while she was there for her exchange, when she went back Pascal did an exchange there, they did long distance and eventually, Alison called Vancouver, Canada home for good. Together 10 years they finally decided to tie the knot and now a few years later they have a beautiful baby boy named Callum. The first grandchild of both sides of the family.
So the whole family came for a visit, only missing Alison’s brothers who couldn’t make the overseas trip this time. We had to capture the occasion because who knows when they’d all be in the same place again?
The session was so fun as I captured each family member interact, fall even more in love and watch in awe over this beautiful boy. It was an honor to be able to capture this and to have gotten to meet him and do my own admiring as I cradled him around their North Vancouver home.
I hope you enjoy it!
We had to incorporate this fantastic gift from his uncle who couldn’t make it to see him this time. We all giggled while taking it and it was a group favorite.
Grandma Jutta, totally in love and content in her new role.
Alison and Pascal stepped into their new life so easily and smoothly. It’s admiring. The most wonderful parents.
Uncle Marcel, the first time he held a baby, and doing a great job!
I loved this session and enjoyed getting to know Zain’s parents. We started their session in their home and did some cuddling, swaddling and more. Then we headed to a park near their Vancouver, British Columbia home where we finished off their wonderful newborn session. Simple and sweet, just like I like it. ❤️ Enjoy!
In June I was at an adults summer camp for photographers for a week. It took place Bowen Island which lays just off the coast of Vancouver, just drive through North Vancouver to Horseshoe Bay in West Vancouver and catch the smallest of the BC Ferries to a tiny, characteristic and charming little island. The […]
This beautiful mama to be wanted a simple, soft and elegant maternity session before she had her baby girl. We did it in her Burnaby apartment with the blinds closed for the softest light. She wore her favorite Kelvin Kleins and was the pictures of beauty. I still love the photos we created ❤️
