This Powell River wedding was a beautiful day!
Brittany contacted me in April of last year and told me all about her winter wedding dream and I was soooo excited! It was her wished to get married in snow and do photos in the mountains. I was 100% on board and we planned if we had to we would just climb into a truck and hit the mountains to search for snow.
Skip to the day before her wedding, January 26, 2018.
It’s a normal west coast day. Raining cats and dogs in Powell River, BC, but Brittany was still hopeful but it wasn’t looking at all like snow. After the rehearsal, we said our “goodbyes” and “see you on your wedding day!” and parted ways for the night. Just before I headed in to get warm after a rainy day I realized the air was unusually chilly and fresh. “Hmmm smells like snow…”

It’s snowing. My mom called me in the morning and informed me of the news and we were all so excited for B. Her wedding wish came true!
As I made my way on a very slippery road to her parents’ house where the girls were getting ready I was ecstatic! It’s so beautiful and breathtaking.
The day went on without a hitch. A gorgeous ceremony where B walked down the isle to Ed Sheeran “Perfect” that brought everyone including myself to tears.
Shortly after we climbed into 3 trucks and the whole gang headed out to the mountains for portraits. Just as we were climbing out of the trucks a layer of fog started to set in. Everyone was upset except for me. I told them it was perfect! We walked the spot I picked everyone struggled through the deep snow. We quickly got through the family portraits because everyone was freezing.
Wedding party portraits, done!
I moved to a different location for Brittany and Ryan’s portraits and just as I got them into position the sun came out. It was unbelievably stunning! WOW!
The rest of the day was filled with hot chocolate, yummy food by The Chopping Block, dancing(including Ryan killing it with all the kids: see below) and beautiful speeches.
What a great day!
Brittany wore her grandmother’s wedding ring which has been melted down and is a necklace(see below), I loved it!
Happy for you guys! Much love Brittany + Ryan ❤
