This is a fun story and a long one.
Pascal’s family and my family have been close friends since we moved to Canada, his parents, Jutta and Bernd, are my Godparents actually, and they all mean the world for me.
A few years ago I photographed Pascal and Alison’s wedding at this stunning mansion, in Madeira Park on the Sunshine Coast, that they rented for the weekend where all their closest friends and family stayed together. It was a weekend to remember.
Rewind a little… about 10 years before that Alison and Pascal met on their first day on campus, at The University of Victoria. Pascal’s parent’s, barely made it back home to Vanderhoof BC about 11 hours away, received a phone call from their son saying that he met a girl. Who knew that she would be the girl. She is from Scottland, and they spend every moment together while she was there for her exchange, when she went back Pascal did an exchange there, they did long distance and eventually, Alison called Vancouver, Canada home for good. Together 10 years they finally decided to tie the knot and now a few years later they have a beautiful baby boy named Callum. The first grandchild of both sides of the family.
So the whole family came for a visit, only missing Alison’s brothers who couldn’t make the overseas trip this time. We had to capture the occasion because who knows when they’d all be in the same place again?
The session was so fun as I captured each family member interact, fall even more in love and watch in awe over this beautiful boy. It was an honor to be able to capture this and to have gotten to meet him and do my own admiring as I cradled him around their North Vancouver home.
I hope you enjoy it!
We had to incorporate this fantastic gift from his uncle who couldn’t make it to see him this time. We all giggled while taking it and it was a group favorite.
Grandma Jutta, totally in love and content in her new role.
Alison and Pascal stepped into their new life so easily and smoothly. It’s admiring. The most wonderful parents.
Uncle Marcel, the first time he held a baby, and doing a great job!
